About me
I’m excited to collaborate with colleagues across the state who are deeply committed to equity, access, and excellence in public education. I began my teaching career in the Sacramento area at Rocklin Unified School District before relocating to Kern County when my husband began working at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center. Since then, I’ve served in a range of roles, including elementary teacher, site administrator, and district EL coach in Tehachapi. My work has focused on supporting English learners through instructional leadership, systems development, and the implementation of inclusive, data-informed practices. I am passionate about educational equity, culturally responsive teaching, and helping districts design programs that reflect the needs and assets of multilingual students and families.I grew up in Florida and earned my education degree from the University of Florida (go Gators!). I met my husband, Sean, in 10th grade while copying his chemistry homework, and we’ve been married 23 years. We live in Tehachapi and have three sons: a 17-year-old and 15-year-old twins. I’m also a twin myself and an avid birder; Sean and I love exploring the natural beauty of the Tehachapi Mountains and frequently hike and bird them together.
